Me Abstract by ENIMINEMOE Me Abstract by ENIMINEMOE
:iconwolfythewolfywolf: asked me, "In what ways can you draw Abstract drawings?"

This was a hard question that I had to check the definition of abstract art to make sure I had an understanding on what makes my drawing abstract to being with; I surprised to find out that Pablo Picasso artwork isn't considered abstract since you can tell what he was painting and abstract art is "the use of lines, forms, and colors that doesn't represent anything in the real world" (my drawing style was highly influenced by Pablo's work...so I wonder if my drawings were really abstract or not). However, even if my current drawings may or may not be abstract, my doodles/scrap work are:

The bottom left drawing is just a small corner of my stress strip of paper (just like my drawing, "Tree of chaos", to create this all you have to do is start a certain point and keep on adding to it, even if it doesn't make sense or doesn't look right. Also, I had some practice drawing mazes for fun and random shapes).

The painting above was just me finger painting again; I did it for the fun of it and to see if can make anything out it (when it comes to doodle, I try not to think about what I'm doing and let myself go...afterwards, I try to see if I can find anything I like and make in a separate drawing like most of my drawings...this painting looks like a dancing fox in the forest...may I will draw that someday).

The digital drawing on the top right was an old Paint drawing, where I drew random straight lines; fill in the blank spaces with colors; copied, rotated them, and change some colors; and then put them together in a interesting pattern/design. This is similar to my playing cards designs, where I first drew sample designs of numbers, letters, suits, and faces and after I sketch my first playing card, the rest of the deck became a variations of the first one.

So, my advice to anyone, who wants to create abstract art,: 1) start somewhere and let your imagination run wild; 2) don't think so much about what your trying to make; think about it later; 3) play around with references, lines, shapes, and colors and see what you can put together on paper. I hope you like my answer :)
